Cali Resort and Spa Review: A Dreamy Stay in Paphos

Looking for somewhere to stay in Paphos? If you’ve ever spent hours scrolling through travel sites, you know how hard it can be to find the perfect spot. Well, look no further because I highly recommend Cali Resort and Spa. In fact, it’s one of the most amazing hotels I’ve ever stayed in!
I recently returned home from a four-night getaway in the heart of Coral Bay and I loved every minute. Heading back to this hotel at the end of a busy day felt like such a treat! They boast excellent service, a beautiful interior and everything you could ever need for a relaxing holiday.
In this post, I’ll share my honest review of Cali Resort and Spa to help you decide if it lives up to its five-star promise. We’ll discuss its location, cleanliness, value for money and much more.

Checking in to Cali Resort and Spa
While I do like to stay in nice hotels sometimes (especially if it’s my birthday or a special occasion), I don’t typically stay in five-star resorts. As someone who mostly travels solo, I opt for hostels to save some cash. So when I checked into Cali Resort and Spa, I was thrilled!
From the moment we walked through the door, it felt like a five-star experience. We were given such a warm welcome with a drink on arrival. Not only that, but I have a background in design and the interiors blew me away. The decor is to a very high standard and it definitely feels like a luxury hotel.
Check-in starts at 2pm and since we arrived at night, our rooms were ready to go. On the day of departure, you can check out until noon, which gives you plenty of time to have a sleep-in (if that’s what you fancy). As a frequent traveller, I know that most hostels and hotels aren’t so generous!
Adults only
Cali Resort and Spa is part of the Designed for Adults range by Louis Hotels. As such, you can expect calm vibes and a peaceful environment, which is ideal if you’re truly looking to unwind by the pool.
It’s a top choice for solo travellers, couples and friendship groups seeking a laid-back atmosphere away from the noise and chaos of family-friendly resorts.
Location, location, location
Situated in Coral Bay, just a short drive from central Paphos, this hotel is well located. The neighbourhood is known for its gorgeous beach (which is just 10 minutes away on foot) and dramatic coastal scenery. It’s also near plenty of authentic taverns, shops and cafes.
Being so close to the sea, I spent several nights admiring the sunsets from my balcony. In fact, it was one of my favourite things about this hotel.
Outside of the immediate area, Cali Resort and Spa is just a short drive from many of the main sights and activities in Paphos. For example, the Tomb of the Kings, Paphos Castle and the Aphrodite Nature Trail are easily reached by car.
Types of rooms
At Cali Resort and Spa, there’s a range of rooms available to cater to different budgets. The options are:
- Superior rooms with inland or sea views
- Deluxe suites with a sea view
- Executive suites with a sea view
I had a superior room with a sea view and it was amazing. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the rainfall shower was a dream after a long day in the sunshine. I also loved watching the sunset from my balcony with a glass of prosecco in hand – bliss!
Each room comes with cosy robes, luxury toiletries, a well-stocked mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, a Nespresso machine and more. Basically, you’ll find anything you could ever need during your stay. Plus, I got back to my room every night to fresh fruit, mini cakes and a replenished bottle of bubbles. Such a nice touch!
Cleanliness
Even when I’m staying in hostels, I expect a high level of cleanliness. Unsurprisingly, Cali Resort and Spa was impeccably clean. Everything from the lobby to my room was absolutely spotless and I could tell that presentation was important to the hotel staff.
Customer service
I’m not joking when I say that the level of customer service at this hotel is insanely good! I truly felt they wanted to ensure I had a great stay and it made such a difference compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in the past.
It’s also one of the reasons that I’d love to return to this hotel again and again in the future. When the staff go out of their way to make you feel so welcome, it really does make your stay a more memorable experience.
Aria all-day dining
Despite not really being a morning person, I made sure that I woke up early enough to get breakfast most mornings. It’s served buffet style with a range of dishes including local delicacies, continental options, tasty juices, tea and coffee.
I don’t tend to eat too much in the mornings, but I went for yoghurt with fresh fruit, a cup of tea and some juice. It was a fab way to start the morning and fuel up for a day of exploring.
Aria also does lunch and dinner. One night, we opted to eat on-site and enjoyed a range of foods like pasta, curries and desserts.
Fiki Japanese fusion restaurant
Fiki is the resort’s on-site Japanese fusion restaurant and I recommend booking a table at least once. After a long travel day, we dined here on our first night and the food was so good.
To start, we ate a range of dishes, like veggie dumplings, prawn crackers, edamame and a very yummy coconut soup, which was one of my favourite parts of the meal.
In terms of mains, we had Korean chicken with fried rice, fish skewers and a beef stir fry dish. But it was the desserts that really stole the show! To end our meal nicely, we were served some mini cakes that were extremely well presented. Trust me, they didn’t last long!
Calista Pool Bar
Open from 10am until 6pm each day, Calista is a poolside bar where you can order drinks and light bites during the day.
As we were out visiting Paphos’ tourist attractions, I often missed the opportunity to try it out. However, I made a point of heading out there for 30 minutes or so before checking out on our last day. It was the perfect place to relax!
I ordered a spiced mangorita (my fave cocktail at the hotel) and lay down on one of the many sunbeds. When (not if) I stay at Cali Resort and Spa in the future, I’ll make sure I leave more time for poolside lounging.
Sonata Lounge
Sonata Lounge is open from 8am until 1am daily, providing a good selection of beers, wines, spirits, speciality cocktails and soft drinks. After making your order, you can find a spot to lounge in as they prepare your refreshments.
Since it’s open much later, I grabbed a few drinks from here each day and I’m pretty sure I tried almost every cocktail on the menu (apart from the ones I knew I wouldn’t like). In my opinion, the spiced mangorita is the best – I had at least five during my four-night stay.
Simply put, it’s the ideal place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Plus, it’s all free if you’re on the all-inclusive package and I fully took advantage of that!
Spa and wellness
If you’re looking for pure relaxation, the on-site spa is the place to be. It boasts an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and a chill-out area. You can also book a range of massages and facials for an additional fee.
Before heading home on checkout day, I had a quick massage, which felt lovely after fulfilling our jam-packed (but very fun) Paphos itinerary. Even if you’re not usually a spa person, I’d highly recommend treating yourself at least once while you’re there.
For all you fitness enthusiasts, there’s a well-stocked gym too.
Value for money
Let’s not beat around the bush – staying at a five-star resort is not cheap. Plus, prices will change based on whether you opt for a breakfast, half-board or all-inclusive package.
Prices will also vary depending on the time of year. However, I’ve just done a quick search for a three-night getaway for two in June and the total came to around £630. Annoyingly, it’s only about £60 less for a solo traveller, so it would make sense to stay with a pal or significant other to get better value for money.
Regardless, with the level of service, the quality of the facilities and the overall vibe at Cali Resort and Spa, I really don’t think that’s too bad. Especially in summer!

You can book a room at Cali Resort and Spa online in a few easy steps. The resort tends to fill up quickly during peak season, so if you have specific dates in mind, it’s worth locking them in now.
To save some cash, consider going in shoulder season (late spring or early autumn) as prices are typically more affordable. It’s also a great time to visit Paphos as it’s less crowded, but still boasts stunning weather.

Ultimately, Cali Resort and Spa exceeded my expectations, which were already quite high. From the fab customer service to the beautiful interiors, this hotel has it all. It’s easily one of the top hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
