2 | The City Walls
The city walls are 3.4 kilometres long and well worth the walk for anybody visiting York. Not only are the walls one of the best free attractions in the city, but they also offer some great views. Throughout the walk, visitors will come across some amazing photo opportunities showcasing York Minster in the background.
As the walls are so long, you will likely come across many spots that are free from tourists and travellers. Of course, that makes it a lot easier to take your photos without photobombers in the backdrop!

Clifford’s Tower is another one of the cities most famous attractions. Whilst taking photos from outside of the tower is completely free of charge, ticket fees do apply if you wish to go inside.
