If you are hoping to experience a unique hotel stay on your upcoming trip to Cappadocia, you may be looking to stay in a cave hotel. These particular hotels are all the range in this popular Turkish destination and it isn’t hard to see why. They offer an authentic feel and dive into local history. In this post, I will share an honest review of my one-night stay at Zeus Cave Suites in Göreme, Cappadocia.
Zeus Cave Suites Review: Is this a good option for budget travellers?
If you have searched for hotels in Cappadocia online, you have likely come across many cave hotels. As I’ve already mentioned, they are THE place to stay whilst visiting the local area. However, what is it like to stay at Zeus Cave Hotel? Let’s cover everything you need to know from how to get to the hotel to comfort, cost and everything in between.

How to get to Zeus Cave Suites
Like many popular cave suites in town, Zeus Cave Suites is located just a short 5-minute walk from the centre of Goreme. As such, there are a few ways to get there from the airports in Cappadocia. Please keep in mind that Cappadocia has two airports (Nevsehir and Kayseri) so you will need to check which airport you are flying into before arranging transportation to the hotel.
Airport shuttle
The hotel offers an airport shuttle service for guests which is not included in the cost of your stay. To book this service, all you need to do is get in touch with the hotel via email, phone or using the booking website you booked your stay through. If you would like to use the shuttle service again upon checking out, you can book this at reception during your stay.
Taxi
Alternatively, you could also book a taxi with one of the taxi companies in Cappadocia. Well-rated companies include Goreme Cappadocia Taxi, Göreme Yellow Taxi and CappaTaxi.
Hire a rental car
Your last option is to hire a rental car. This is a great idea if you plan on exploring beyond Goreme and heading to nearby spots such as Uchisar and Urgup. This is also ideal if you plan on doing a road trip throughout Turkey as it allows you to experience the country on a deeper level and truly experience the local culture.
Checking in to Zeus Cave Suites
Upon arrival at the hotel, you will turn left to arrive at the reception. Here you will be welcomed by a friendly (and helpful) member of staff. They will take a copy of your identification and payment (if you haven’t paid already) and share important information about your stay before taking you to your room.
When it comes to checking in to the hotel, you can check in from 2pm onwards. On the day of your departure, you will need to leave your room by 11am.
The rooms and suites
Upon entering your room at Zeus Cave Suites, you will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of space. The rooms are large, unlike some hotels across the globe where you barely have enough space for your luggage. Furthermore, they are spotlessly clean and have a lovely authentic decor. Each room offers slippers, flat-screen TVs, a large wardrobe, hair dryers and a kettle to make your morning brew (a must in my opinion).
The atmosphere of the rooms is also super cosy, making it a lovely place to relax in at the end of a busy day. Some rooms also have their own private balcony that boast amazing views of the extraordinary Cappadocia landscape. It may be worth paying a little extra to stay in one of these rooms if that is something you know you will enjoy.
Bathroom
The private bathrooms have everything you could need including a toilet, shower and wash basin. You will also find free toiletries in each bathroom. In terms of the shower, it’s worth noting that sometimes the water was a little cool for my liking. However, I do tend to go for hot showers instead of warm ones so this is entirely based on personal preference.
Temperature
Due to the sheer size of the rooms, you may find that they get a little chilly during the colder months. Personally, this is what I found in my particular room and I was travelling in April. However, it’s worth noting that each room does have a radiator if you do get cold. Problem solved!
Windows
Depending on which room you get allocated, be aware that some do not have windows (or at least mine didn’t). Although it wasn’t a problem for me, you may want to double-check with the hotel before your stay if it’s something you require.
Facilities at the hotel
In terms of facilities at the hotel, it’s important to note the following facts:
Air Conditioning: There is no air conditioning at Zeus Cave Suites. However, there are radiators in each room.
Free Wifi Connection: The whole hotel offers free wifi throughout, enabling you to keep connected with friends and family back home. The connection is strong meaning you shouldn’t have any issues sharing on social media, catching up on your favourite show or booking tours and excursions.
Reception: The front desk is manned 24/7 which means you can head to reception if you require assistance or have any questions.
Comfort: Due to the low-lit rooms and comfortable beds, you should have no trouble getting cosy at Zeus Cave Suites.
What is the best thing about Zeus Cave Suites?
Similar to many of the hotels in Cappadocia, the best thing about Zeus Cave Suites is the rooftop terrace. From here, you can watch in awe as over one hundred hot air balloons float into the sky during sunrise. Although it’s not the highest rooftop (you’ll find that at Koza Cave Hotel), it still offers a fantastic viewpoint. Make sure you’re up early to take advantage!
Activities and excursions
If you’re planning on checking out all the best things to do in Cappadocia, head to the reception. There are several tour options in the area and it can be tough to pick which to do (if you’re limited on time). The staff will be more than happy to assist you and offer their advice based on your personal interests. They will then also help you to book the tours you decide to join. This gives you one less thing to worry about before you leave your home country. Winner!
FAQs about Zeus Cave Suites
What is served for breakfast at Zeus Cave Suites?
Breakfast at the hotel consists of traditional Turkish dishes and comes included in the cost of your stay. The breakfast is dubbed “soooooo good” by guests so there is no doubt it’s worth getting up for. However, I was far too tired to eat breakfast as I had been up early to ride in a hot air balloon (ah well, priorities).
How much is it to stay at Zeus Cave Suites?
In my opinion, one of the best things about Zeus Cave Suites is the price. Compared to many of the other highly-rated cave hotels in Cappadocia, the cost of a room is extremely affordable. In fact, you can book a double room (that sleeps two people) for just 55 EUR a night. When you are splitting the cost with someone else, that is truly a bargain. Especially considering the convenient location and that breakfast is included.
If you are travelling as a party of three or four, there are options to book a triple or quadruple room. Again, these prices are very affordable and offer a fantastic value for money.

Overall experience
My honest review of Zeus Cave Suites in Cappadocia is that I would 100% stay again. Despite the bargain price per night, the hotel offers a great breakfast, ideal wifi connection, comfort, clean rooms and an unbeatable location in the centre of Goreme. In my opinion, the value for money at this cave hotel is unreal and makes it a perfect place to stay if you are visiting Cappadocia on a budget.
